"If you're looking for a guest speaker or workshop facilitator, I highly recommend Tennile for her talent and love of writing..."
I had the great privilege of getting to know Tennile as one of our esteemed guest speakers of the HAL YES! program (Halton Youth for Equity & Student Voice) - a pilot project that aims to engage and empower racialized youth in Halton district high schools. Tennile's kind, caring, and confident demeanour made it possible for her to quickly establish an authentic and genuine connection with our young participants. Namely, her ability to be honest and vulnerable with her identity and lived experiences deeply resonated with many of our youth. This opportunity for racialized youth in particular to see themselves in Tennile is a rare and invaluable experience. So, the passion and energy that she so effortlessly carries with her is of equal importance to us and the work we do as a community in supporting the lives of young people. I must add that she also has impeccable presentation skills, is an excellent storyteller and writer, and is incredibly flexible and can swiftly adjust according to the demographic and needs of her audience. If you're looking for a guest speaker or workshop facilitator, I highly recommend Tennile for her talent and love of writing, youth empowerment, and public engagement - all unique qualities that are hard to come by. With all things said and done, it would be an absolute honour to have her join us again for all future HAL YES! sessions to come.
