A Proverb: "If You Want to Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want to Go Far, Go Together" is FACTS

Business romance
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together"

It's an African Proverb my dad didn't make up.

He does, however, invent sayings I can never seem to make sense of...UNTIL I'M IN IT. He's Jamaican by-the-way.

Cue the "I told you so's" and "Who can't hear, must feel" cautionary tongue-lashings.

At some point, you'll be at these very same crossroads in your business --going fast or going far?

When I first started, I had no interest in teaming up with anyone to do anything. Masterminds, sure. Google chats to bounce ideas off of my business friends, yup. But to combine efforts to launch something bigger than myself...no thanks.

I'll take all the credit, for $5,000 Alex.

It seemed more of a headache rather than a true romance.

However, as you mature and realize you don't want to hustle like you did in the beginning or forever. You start to feel the bruises of grinding. "It should get easier, not harder to make more money" -- you ponder to yourself. Then you begin to reconsider, what you once wrote off as a "hell naw."

Now, going "further" is a true romance of mine. And when you're in love, you'll do what you must for the one. What are you willing to do to make your business last?

Legacies are built brick by brick and if there's anything I know about solid foundations --they're not built on quicksand.

Hmmm...that sounds like one of my father's sayings, paraphrased (and making sense).

Which can only mean, I'm knee-deep IN IT.
