FOCUS
Let's talk about FOCUS.

A lot of our energy relies on what we are willing to do.
If you're not motivated to change or grow, will you? You don't get into business to make a lot of money. Even though that was MY initial motivation. I was working on building a SAAS (Software as a Service) business.
Money was the ultimate goal.
Hence, the reason it fizzled out very quickly because when times got hard... I didn't want to do it. I gave up. I bailed. There was no passion there. No drive. And definitely no money. So why stay??
Money cannot be the only motivating factor.
It has to be the frosting on the cake to be a complete cake because let's be honest here, who eats cake without frosting and money is one hell of a motivator. WHEN YOU'RE ALSO DOING WHAT YOU LOVE.
Every day, I should pinch myself that businesses and people are willing to pay me to write for them. So they can continue doing what they love. But I don't pinch myself because that would be ridiculous, instead, I take a moment to appreciate this gift.
And so I take the time to work on it more each day. Ensuring I don't allow online noise and my shiny object syndrome to distract me.
SQUIRREL.
I could have given up completely on starting a business because the last one failed or it didn't make a nickel. I could have reminded myself of all the reasons it didn't work out. I could beat myself up --about not being cut out for that journey. And begrudge anyone who developed an app service. I do begrudge, maybe a little.
Something happens when you stay the course, work on your craft, and unbashfully --share with the world.
You start to do something without even trying...
You build what is YOU.
You build on the new.
And your energy becomes FOCUSED.
